Two candidates have withdrawn their names as candidates for School District No. 46 Board of Education trustee.
As of Sept. 21, Christopher August withdrew his candidacy for the office of school trustee for Area 3, Lower Coast, comprising the Town of Gibsons and Sunshine Coast Regional District Areas D, E and F.
Four candidates are still running for the three trustee positions available in the area: Sue Girard, Stacia Leech, Charlene Penner and incumbent Pammila Ruth.
Area 1, Upper Coast also lost a candidate. Kathryn Love, withdrew her candidacy as of Sept. 20. Candidates Samantha Haines and Darren Inkster remain in the race for the area’s one trustee position. Upper Coast includes Halfmoon Bay, Pender Harbour/Egmont and Sechelt Indian Government District band lands.
The candidates in Area 2, Central Coast, won by acclamation.
