District of Sechelt council candidate Michael Turner’s request to withdraw from the municipal election has been denied because there is no way to remove his name from the ballot, the District of Sechelt said in a press release on Thursday, Nov. 6.
“Mr. Turner confirmed with the Chief Election Officer that he remains committed to withdrawing from the election and asks electors not to vote for him,” the release stated.
Turner has said earlier this week that he is withdrawing for “very real private and personal reasons.”
