Sunshine Coast RCMP have a warning for residents in Langdale - lock up your vehicles.
On April 24 over the course of the night, thieves targeted several unlocked vehicles in a Langdale residential neighbourhood.
According to Cpl. Steve Chubey, thieves were stealing anything, from sunglasses and spare change to cell phones and chargers. Two insecure bicycles were also stolen, however later recovered at the Langdale ferry terminal. Further, the suspects stole a fire extinguisher and sprayed the inside of yet another unlocked vehicle.
A total of 10 vehicles were hit.
"These are crimes of opportunity which can easily be avoided by simply locking your vehicles when you are home," said Chubey. "People continue to leave their property insecure and then look for police for answers. The answer is simple, lock everything up."
Anyone with information on these thefts or any other crimes are asked to contact the Sunshine Coast RCMP or Crimestoppers.
