Sunday's rain may be good for water restrictions on the Sunshine Coast (to be seen) but it was not good for drag racing.
Sunshine Coast Drag Racing Association's Sept. 4 races at the Sechelt Airport had to be postponed in light of the wet weather.
Membership secretary David Kipling said in an email that racing would be impossible or even dangerous in this weather. "Untreaded racing 'slick' tires would be useless on a damp track," he said.
Kipling said the club is confirming a Sept. 11 rescheduling with District of Sechelt. The Weather Network's seven-day forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud and 21 C next Sunday.
