A wayward steer caused a minor traffic sensation on Highway 101 near Lower Road on April 26. RCMP were called to the scene to find the animal’s owner and “multiple individuals” attempting to corral the steer to safety, but he fled east on the highway. “Police followed the cow with emergency lights on to warn traffic of the moving obstruction and eventually, the cow detoured through a property into a wooded area east of Henry Road,” RCMP said. “The owner and others continued to search for the missing bovine and at this time, no other reports of large animals on the roads have been received.”
