Nominations for chief and council of the shíshálh Nation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the shíshálh Nation Community Hall.
Band members will be able to nominate candidates for one chief position and four councillor positions for a term starting April 1, 2017 and ending on March 31, 2020.
The current council includes Chief Calvin Craigan and councillors Chris August, Randy Joe, Robert Joe and Warren Paull.
Robert Joe and Paull were elected last year in byelections to replace Ben Pierre Jr. and Garry Feschuk, respectively, who did not finish their terms.
