The Elders Craft Fair at the shíshálh Nation band hall attracted plenty of visitors on a balmy, sunny spring day on Saturday, March 23. At the loom, Raquel Joe explained the significance of her weaving project, “yaws te sk’ilt” [A New Day]. She is weaving the border around what will be an image of Sechelt Inlet at sunset or sunrise, depending on your perspective, she said. The work is meant to instill people with optimism and honours family members she has lost. See more photos in our online galleries at www.coastreporter.net/photos-videos
