The Sechelt Nation is calling a byelection to replace the councillor position left vacant by Ben Pierre Jr. earlier this year.
A notice on the Sechelt Nation website calls for a meeting on June 9 at 6 p.m. at the Nation’s community hall to nominate candidates for the seat.
No one has publicly stepped forward to run at this point and no date has been announced for the vote.
The new councillor, once elected, will serve the remainder of the term, which ends on March 31, 2017.
