Sunshine Coast RCMP Cops for Cancer riders Const. Dustin Shevchenko and Const. Chris Mager will be looking to make some arrests in the Sechelt area for a Jail N bail fundraiser on June 7.
“Members of the public can call 604-616-6097 to request someone be ‘arrested’ for a fee of $25,” Sunshine Coast RCMP said in a news release. “Maybe it’s your boss, teacher, co-worker or elected official. Once they have been ‘arrested’ and thrown in jail they will then be able to call friends and family to raise money for their bail.”
A temporary jail holding cell will be located outside at the rear of the Sechelt RCMP detachment for the occasion.
You can nominate someone you know or work with, or even yourself. The event will be from 1 to 5 pm on Friday, June 7.
“Aside from being a great show and fun for everyone involved, our goal is to raise awareness and funds to fight childhood cancer,” the detachment said. “Have fun with this unique opportunity.”
Tax receipts for donations available for any donation over $25 or by request for amounts under $25.
The phone line is now open to call in and put in your arrest request for Sechelt.
