Sechelt appoints new director of planning

The District of Sechelt won’t be without a director of planning for long. Sechelt officials announced June 24 that Andrew Allen will take over the job on or before Aug. 6.

The District of Sechelt won’t be without a director of planning for long.

Sechelt officials announced June 24 that Andrew Allen will take over the job on or before Aug. 6. Outgoing planning director Tracy Corbett attended her last council meeting on June 19.

Allen comes to the District of Sechelt after 18 years with the Sunshine Coast Regional District, where he was most recently manager of planning and development.

The district release announcing his appointment praises Allen’s “deep-rooted knowledge and passion for the community.”

“Andrew’s education, experience and local knowledge will make him a great addition to our team. We look forward to working with him,” said Andrew Yeates, chief administrative officer.
