The search for a missing 19-year-old Sechelt woman ended Tuesday after the woman was located in Sechelt.
“She was located this afternoon [Tuesday] safe and sound, through a joint effort between RCMP and some community members who came forward with tips,” said Const. Harrison Mohr with Sunshine Coast RCMP.
“We also want to thank Sunshine Coast Search and Rescue, who put in a big effort during the overnight hours after she was initially reported missing.”
The woman went missing from the Sechelt area Monday night. Police were called around 10 p.m. Monday, and shortly after, Sunshine Coast Search and Rescue started an urban search effort.
Mohr, issuing a request for public assistance early Tuesday, said the woman’s family had “real concerns for her safety and well-being.”
