SCRD offers treatment plant tours for Water Week

May 5 to 11 is Drinking Water Week and the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) is opening the Chapman Creek Water Treatment Plant to the public for guided tours. Tours will be held Wednesday, May 8, from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

The Chapman Creek Water Treatment Plant is located above Selma Park. It will be open to the public for guided tours on May 8 and 10.

May 5 to 11 is Drinking Water Week and the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) is opening the Chapman Creek Water Treatment Plant to the public for guided tours.

Tours will be held Wednesday, May 8, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and Friday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

About 85 per cent of the water supplied to the 23,000 people serviced by the SCRD  water system comes from Chapman Creek, and flows through the treatment plant, which was commissioned in 2004.
