A store clerk was shaken up, but otherwise unharmed after a robbery at the Bargain Store in Gibsons Monday morning.

Just before 11 a.m., Sunshine Coast RCMP were called to the store after an unknown male had entered the business wearing a bandana to conceal his face.

"The suspect produced a knife and demanded cash from the female employee," said S/Sgt. Herb Berdahl. "The suspect then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed sum of cash."RCMP officers flooded the immediate area and conducted vehicle and foot patrols. A police dog unit was also used in the search. A short while later, RCMP arrested a 31-year-old Roberts Creek man in connection to the armed robbery, but on Tuesday morning, Berdahl said the man was released from custody with no charges laid.

"As of this time, we have no suspects in custody and the investigation is still active and on-going," said Berdahl.
