Remembrance Day honoured on the Coast

Nov. 11
remembrance

Legionnaires, RCMP officers, veterans and cadets marched down Cowrie Street during the Sechelt Remembrance Day parade on Nov. 11, before circling around the cenotaph to take their places for a sombre ceremony. Well over 300 people gathered for the ceremony to pay their respects.

After Last Post was played and a moment of silence was observed at 11 a.m., Rev. Ian Nestegaard Paul led the crowd in a prayer. Following the singing of O Canada and the passing of the torch from a Legionnaire to a cadet, dozens of representatives laid wreaths at the base of the cenotaph.
