Sunshine Coast RCMP are looking for tips from the public after a break-in at a West Sechelt home on Christmas Day.

According to police, the family was out of their Mason Road home for approximately five hours on Dec. 25, enjoying Christmas dinner elsewhere.

They returned to find the home ransacked and gifts, money, electronics – including two laptops and a cell phone – and several other items missing.

Const. Karen Whitby said the thief, or thieves, also helped themselves to a frozen pizza, chocolates and wine.

A forensic identification team from North Vancouver was brought over to assist in the investigation, but so far police have not made any arrests or recovered any of the stolen items.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266 and quote file number 17-8490.
