Sunshine Coast RCMP say a heavy police presence on Gambier Island July 28 and 29 was due to a search for a lost party-goer.
Police said they had several noise complaints Sunday evening from boaters in Halkett Bay, related to partying on other boats in the popular weekend destination.
Later on they got a call reporting that a man from one of the boats had jumped into the water, swam ashore and then got lost on the island.
The RCMP West Coast Marine Unit and Sunshine Coast members responded and the man was located Monday and returned to Gibsons, police said.
