• On May 16, police attended a three-vehicle incident on the Langdale Bypass that occurred after an unknown woman stopped her van on the highway, turned on her hazard lights and got out to escort a flock of ducks off the roadway. A second motorist came down the hill and stopped abruptly behind the first vehicle, but then a third vehicle, unable to get past any of the vehicles stopped in the lanes, swerved but was unable to avoid colliding with the second vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported but the second and third vehicles had to be towed.
