Sunshine Coast RCMP reported the following for March 21 to 28:

Break and enter

• A suspected break and enter occurred in the 700 block of Marine Drive, Gibsons, sometime between January and late March of this year. Two portable hard drives and a DVD player were stolen. Police are investigating.

Traffic

• Around 10 p.m. on March 26, emergency services attended a single-vehicle rollover on the Sunshine Coast Highway near Trout Lake Road. Police arrived to find a black Ford Mustang in the ditch. The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital. The driver stated the vehicle hydroplaned before crashing into the ditch.

• During the late evening hours of March 27, a black SUV crashed through the fence near the conveyor belt in Sechelt, after the driver experienced an apparent steering failure. The driver was shaken up and was transported to hospital as a precautionary measure.

• Around 7:30 p.m. on March 28, a resident reported a silver or grey Mustang doing doughnuts and driving erratically around the intersection of Gale Avenue North and Fairway Avenue. Police attended and located a possible suspect car parked in the area, although there was insufficient evidence to issue any violation tickets. Any residents witnessing further erratic driving incidents are asked to report them to police immediately.

Theft from cars

Around 2 a.m. on March 26, Sunshine Coast RCMP received a report of two youths breaking into cars on Wharf Avenue near East Porpoise Bay Road. Police located some of the youths involved, and will be recommending charges against two youths from Sechelt. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Sunshine Coast RCMP, file 16-1627.
