The bitter cold did not deter swimmers from the annual Polar Bear Swim in Davis Bay on Jan. 1.
Quite a few made it into the frigid waters and nearly all of them made it all the way out to the buoy and back. Over 300 spectators lined the beach and Davis Bay Pier to watch. The event was organized by the Sunshine Coast Lions Club with Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue standing by to make sure everyone made it out of the water safely.
