Pacific Ferries to meet with Vancouver Park Board for dock deal

Transportation

Pacific Ferries says it will be meeting with officials from the Vancouver Park Board next week to try to come to an agreement for the company to continue using the Harbour Green dock in Coal Harbour.

The company, which offers tours and a commuter service between Gibsons and the Lower Mainland, suspended service Sept. 15.

Park Board officials said at the time that Pacific Ferries was one of several operators that were using the dock for commercial purposes without an operating agreement.

In an update posted online, the company said the meeting with the Park Board is set for Oct. 5.

“It is a process that we have to go through to come to an agreement that will benefit us all,” the update said. “We are excited and encouraged to see everyone’s support [for] our company and service. We will not let you down. Our promise to you is to continue to find a way and a solution to keep providing you with our service.”
