The board of Sechelt Community Schools is pleased to announce that Ted Chisholm has accepted the position of Community School coordinator, starting in the new school year this fall.

Chisholm, who has worked as a recreation programmer with the Sunshine Coast Regional District since 2007, replaces Heather Gordon, who is stepping back to a part-time role after 10 years as coordinator.

"As an organization responsible for the development and delivery of programs and services to augment the experience of children and youth, not only in the Sechelt area, but across the entire Sunshine Coast, we are very pleased to have Chisholm bring us his extensive background in recreation programming, community schools, outdoor education and after-school care," said the board in a news release.

"The board wants to extend its appreciation to Heather for her exceptional leadership and her many years of creative and productive service, most notably in the establishment of KIDZ Club After School Care Programs and the Sechelt Youth Centre as well as the expansion of the Breakfast for Kids Program.

"We wish both Heather and Ted all the best as they embark on these new chapters in their lives."
