Several people were hurt during a home invasion in Port Moody early Sunday, April 28.

At around 8 a.m., police say they were tipped off about the well-being of a family in a Heritage Woods home.

Inside, officers found “multiple victims” who have since been treated for non-life threatening injuries. The suspects had already fled the scene.

Police are not disclosing the victims' names, genders or ages due to the sensitivity of the investigation.

Port Moody Police Department spokesperson Const. Sam Zacharias said it’s believed the home was targeted and the incident is considered isolated.

"There is no risk to the public," he said.

As well, the home invasion is not associated with gangs or organized crime, he confirmed.

“Our Major Crime Section has assumed conduct of this investigation” he said, noting police are now canvassing the lower Heritage Woods neighbourhoods for footage.

“We are asking anyone with information about this incident to reach out to our investigators or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous.”

Anyone with details about the home invasion is asked to call the Port Moody Police Department at 604-461-3456 or the Crime Stopppers tipline at 1-800-222-8477.
