UPDATE THURSDAY MORNING AT 8:30 A.M.

Sunshine Coast RCMP confirm that 50-year-old Willard Johnson of Sechelt, reported missing from Sechelt late Wednesday afternoon, has been located, and is safe.

Johnson was reported missing by his family after he left work unexpectedly, and did not return home.

“RCMP located the man in the Sechelt area late Wednesday night, after finding his car,” said Const. Harrison Mohr. “Police are still looking into details of the disappearance, but thank the public for their attention and concern.”

Sunshine Coast RCMP is asking for the public's help in locating 50-year-old Willard Johnson of Sechelt.

Johnson was last seen around noon Wednesday, March 25 after leaving the construction site he works at in Sechelt. He was expected to return after lunch, but neither his co-workers nor his family have seen him since then.  

Johnson is described as an aboriginal male, 5'7", with a heavy build and black/grey hair. He was wearing black sweatpants, and a grey sweater.

Police ask the public to be on the lookout for Johnson's car, a blue, four-door 2005 Chevrolet Optra hatchback, 337 AWK. If you see Johnson's vehicle, call 9-1-1 or call Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266.
