Lt.-Gov. Janet Austin will be making her first official visit to the Sunshine Coast this weekend, but there’s only one public event on the itinerary.
Austin, who was sworn in just over a year ago, and her husband Ashley Chester will tour the Gibsons Public Market and the Nicholas Sonntag Marine Education Centre on Saturday from about 12:45 to 2:15 p.m.
The lieutenant governor’s other stops will be private events, including a reception at Gibsons Town Hall with local government and business leaders, an Indigenous walking tour with Talaysay Tours, a viewing of the Sunshine Coast Arts Council’s exhibit All That We Are LGBTQ2+, a tour of the Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden, a visit to the Tems Swiya Museum and a stop at Sunshine Coast Community Services.
