Lower Road in Roberts Creek has been reopened to two-way traffic. The closure ended on Feb. 28.
Currently the surface is composed of gravel and won’t be paved with asphalt until the right weather conditions are in place. “We ask that vehicles travel slowly through the area and watch for loose gravel until the paving is completed,” said Tyler Lambert of Capilano Highways.
The 1800 block of the road was closed at the start of February after a washout exposed gas and water lines. A period of intense rain at the end of January caused damage to infrastructure in other areas of Roberts Creek and forced the Sunshine Coast Regional District to announce a state of local emergency, which was lifted Feb. 21.
