Lots of tricks, little treats in Bonniebrook

Sunshine Coast RCMP had a spooky Halloween night with several reported crimes in the Bonniebrook Heights area of Gibsons Sunday evening. RCMP said in the early hours of Oct. 31, an unknown suspect or suspects attempted to break into an occupied home.

Sunshine Coast RCMP had a spooky Halloween night with several reported crimes in the Bonniebrook Heights area of Gibsons Sunday evening.

RCMP said in the early hours of Oct. 31, an unknown suspect or suspects attempted to break into an occupied home. The screens were removed from two basement windows and the suspect(s) attempted to gain entry into the home.

An unknown suspect or suspects slashed the cover of an outdoor pool at a home and then attempted to gain entry to the occupied home through a locked basement window. Tools were removed from an adjacent shed on the property and located in a neighbouring yard.

An unknown suspect or suspects broke into the detached garage of a residence. The suspect(s) took cigarettes, beer and tools from two vehicles inside of the garage. Several of the items stolen from the vehicles were located at different locations in the area.

A homeowner observed three male youths in her backyard. The female confronted the youths who fled to the front yard and onto the street. The female obtained photographs of the youths, which have been forwarded to police. The youths were described as Caucasian, 16 to 20 years old, slim build, one was approximately six feet tall an the other two were approximately five and a half feet tall. All three were wearing dark clothing and hoodies.

RCMP are also investigating a number of reports of vandalism and theft from vehicles in the lower Gibsons area. It is believed that these incidents are related. ??

The public's assistance is being sought in identifying any person(s) that may have been in the areas noted above during the hours of 1 and 5 a.m. on Oct. 31. ??Anyone with information on these investigations is asked to contact Const.
