Sunshine Coast RCMP recently received their new patrol vessel. It has a fully enclosed cabin, two 200 horsepower motors, and all sorts of advanced technology, but what it doesn’t have is … a name!
Between May 17 and June 2, children 12 and under on the Sunshine Coast can submit their best idea for a name for the detachment’s new patrol vessel. Sunshine Coast RCMP will review the entries and select one name, which will be posted on the vessel. The winning child will also get a tour of the boat, as well as a boat ride around Gibsons Harbour.
Pick up an entry form from one of the following places:
• Participating elementary schools on the Sunshine Coast.
• The Gibsons, Sechelt or Pender Harbour RCMP offices.
• Print one out from the detachment’s webpage (sunshinecoast.rcmp-grc.gc.ca) – link at bottom of article.
To enter, fill out the entry form and drop it off at a participating school or at any of the RCMP offices on the Sunshine Coast.
The winner will be contacted during the week of June 12. One entry per person. Entries must be received by Friday, June 2.
