More than 40 employees from Bank of Montreal branches across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island donned work boots at the Habitat for Humanity site in Wilson Creek on July 19 for its seventh annual build day. “The impact that we make is probably the equivalent of at least two or three months’ worth of regular volunteers,” said organizer Carol Carr-Anderson. This year volunteers cleaned out a creek bed of construction debris and built a fence around the creek next to the driveway. They have also re-sanded and re-stained decks, added stairs and stained trim and shingles for new units.
