Flash Mob

These grandmothers and friends got down for a good cause at Sunnycrest Mall in Gibsons on Dec. 1 in honour of World AIDS day.

The flash mob was meant to bring attention to the plight of grandmothers in Africa who are caring for millions of children orphaned by AIDS.

A second performance was staged at Trail Bay Centre in Sechelt later in the day.

The Sunshine Coast Grandmothers and Grandothers group had 26 members, as well as friends and supporters, take part in the two events. Across Canada, more than 200 granny flash mobs were held to mark the occasion.
