Daring swimmers gather at Armours Beach in Gibsons on New Year’s Day for the annual polar bear swim.
The event is cohosted by the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue, Station 14 (Gibsons) and the Gibsons Marine Rescue Society, with hot chocolate donated by Tim Hortons.
This year, 83 people registered – an excellent turnout, according to Tess Huntly, media liaison for RCMSAR 14.
