Woodfibre LNG will be the topic of discussion at a roundtable organized by the proponent, the Sunshine Coast Regional District and the Islands Trust this Saturday, March 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. on Gambier Island.
Woodfibre will pay for the ferry leaving Langdale at 12:05 p.m. to shuttle Coasters to the meting, which will also be attended by a representative of the Environmental Assessment Office (EAO).
The roundtable meeting is the closest to the Coast on the project and it was arranged by West Howe Sound director Ian Winn and Gambier Island trustee Kate-Louise Stamford.
“We worked with Woodfibre LNG to make this meeting happen,” Winn said, noting the pair “look forward to lots of public engagement to address issues and concerns.”
The late addition to the Woodfibre LNG meeting schedule coincides with the new extended public comment period. The EAO will now accept public comments until March 23 on the project.
If Coasters can’t make the Saturday meeting on Gambier, but have something to say about the project, comments can be submitted online until March 23 at www.eao.gov.bc.ca.
