Come get a hot dog or hamburger and drink by donation and help support the Fort McMurray Firefighter’s Association on May 21 at Your Independent Grocer (YIG) in Sechelt.
The Sechelt, Halfmoon Bay and Gibsons fire departments will be putting on the fundraiser barbecue this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as a way to raise money for their fellow firefighters in Fort McMurray. YIG is donating all of the food for the effort.
Many of the firefighters in Fort McMurray have experienced personal loss due to the fire while they’ve been working to combat it, and the funds raised will go to help any member that needs a hand.
Look for the Sechelt Fire Department’s ladder truck and large Canadian flag to be set up in front of the grocery store and consider stopping by to give to the fundraising effort.
