Flash mob offers support

Mental Illness Awareness Week
flash mob

A flash mob broke out on Oct. 6 at 12:30 p.m. near the Seaside Centre in Sechelt as part of Mental Illness Awareness Week in Canada. Participants donned T-shirts from Arrowhead Clubhouse and danced a choreographed piece to the song “Funky Town,” which encourages people to “talk about it.”

The mission of Arrowhead Clubhouse is to support members of the public who suffer from serious chronic mental illness on their journey to recovery.

Mental Illness Awareness Week is meant to promote discussion and help reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness in Canada.
