Due to construction on berth one at the Langdale ferry terminal, the schedule for Route 3 between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale will change on Jan. 19.
The new schedule will offer hourly sailings between Langdale and Horseshoe Bay starting at 6:20 a.m. on both sides daily.
The last ferry out of Langdale will leave at 8:45 p.m. under the new schedule, while the last ferry leaving Horseshoe Bay will set sail at 9:45 p.m.
The construction is expected to continue until April, so the new schedule will be in effect until April 6.
While the hourly sailings are in effect, BC Ferries will be utilizing smaller vessels with half the capacity currently serviced by ferries on Route 3.
The change will also affect ferry service to Gambier and Keats islands from the Coast.
“For customers using the water taxi service to Gambier and Keats islands, alternate service will be provided by Kona Winds using their Stormaway vessels, and will be temporarily relocated from Langdale terminal to the Gibsons Marina,” a press release from BC Ferries stated.
“The change in travel distances to both islands necessitates a scheduling adjustment on this route as well. These customers will be provided parking at the marina, as well as shuttle service between Langdale terminal and the marina to connect with certain sailings on the Langdale-Horseshoe Bay route.”
The new schedule will see the first sailing to Keats from Gibsons leave at 6:55 a.m. and the last one leave at 5:20 p.m. each day.
