The Sunshine Coast Rod and Gun Club is hosting their inaugural Family Fun Day on Aug. 26. Everyone is welcome to join the free, family-friendly activities and displays for all ages. Kids under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Festivities include kids’ face-painting, a kids’ fly tying workshop, an archery demonstration, a historical arms display, a fly casting demonstration, a Sechelt Fire Department truck to explore, tours of Chapman Creek Hatchery and kids’ fishing, a bear trap display, kids’ crafts and more. Children 10 and over can shoot supervised in the indoor range.
Al Harding, a long-time club member and recent Canadian National pistol champion, will be attending the event to help out on the indoor range, as well as give a demonstration.
Come meet representatives from the BC Conservation Service, WildSafeBC and the BC Wildlife Federation.
Lunch is free for kids under 12 and there will be draws for lots of great door and raffle prizes.
Please bring a non-perishable food item to support the Sunshine Coast Food Bank.
The event will be held at the Gun Club, 4384 Parkway Drive in Wilson Creek (off Field Road) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
