Viewers tuning in to the 49th annual Variety Show of Hearts Telethon on Global BC this Saturday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. to Sunday, Feb. 15 at 5:30 p.m. have a variety of entertainment programming to look forward to.
This year’s lineup features Paul McCartney, Lady Antebellum, James Taylor, Sheryl Crow and Elton John in musical specials sure to delight audiences young and young-at-heart.
Along with the concert performances, the Telethon will also feature live performances by special guests, and the inspiring stories of children who, with Variety’s support, face their individual challenges with courage and determination.
“Variety believes that each child is a champion, capable of achieving remarkable little victories,” said Bernice Scholten, executive director of Variety - The Children’s Charity. “We invite all British Columbians to celebrate their stories with us, enjoy the fabulous entertainment programming, and be a part of our team helping children who have special needs.”
Global BC anchors Chris Gailus, Jill Krop, Steve Darling and Sophie Lui will be joined by the rest of the Global BC news team to host the two-day broadcast. Bob McGrath, well-known and loved by fans the world over, will be making his 42nd consecutive appearance on the show this year.
