On Saturday, June 22, the Sunshine Coast Electric Vehicle Association (SCEVA) held their inaugural meeting with 10 different EV models in attendance.

SCEVA’s purpose is to promote the use of electric vehicles of all types including cars, e-bikes and scooters on the Sunshine Coast.

Former Sechelt mayor John Henderson, one of the organizers, said: “The Sunshine Coast quite possibly has the highest adoption rate for EVs in the province. We’re ideal for EVs since most of us travel relatively short distances each day and, if needed, we are fortunate to have a good base of charging stations across the Coast.”

SCEVA will be organizing several events in the coming months for EV owners and those interested in EVs, including the Fifth Annual Sechelt Electric Vehicle Festival on Sept. 21.

Further information on SCEVA is available on Facebook and www.SCEVA.org
