The driver of an SUV has received a $368 ticket after narrowly missing a child who had exited a school bus at Redrooffs Road and O’Brian Road in Halfmoon Bay.
The incident occurred on March 9. Police said the bus had its emergency flashers activated and the stop sign out to signal children disembarking when the SUV drove past.
RCMP said the bus driver provided them with the licence plate and vehicle description for a white BMW X3.
As the vehicle was registered to an owner residing in Vancouver, Sunshine Coast RCMP enlisted the help of Vancouver police and the driver was served a violation ticket, which also carries three points on the offender’s driving record.
