Ferry traffic to and from Horseshoe Bay before 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10 will be affected by detours in place for the GranFondo Whistler cycling event from downtown Vancouver.

For traffic on sailings departing Horseshoe Bay, the Stanley Park Causeway and Lions Gate Bridge will be closed to northbound traffic from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. During this period, motorists are advised to use the Ironworker’s Memorial Second Narrows Bridge. One southbound lane will remain open on the Lions Gate Bridge and causeway.

For motorists travelling on sailings that arrive at Horseshoe Bay terminal prior to 9:30 a.m., the eastbound lanes of the Upper Levels Highway will be closed to traffic from Horseshoe Bay to Taylor Way from 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. During this time eastbound motorists will be redirected through West Vancouver along Marine Drive. The changes will affect the 6:20 a.m. and 8:25 a.m. sailings from Langdale.

Trucks disembarking from these sailings that are more than 20 m in length and 40,000 kg GVW or more heading eastbound will be held on Highway 1 at Exit 0 until 9:30 a.m. Drivers of these vehicles are advised to consider taking an alternate sailing.
