A Gibsons man and two co-accused in the killing of gang leader Jonathan Bacon will stand trial in 2016.
Michael Kerry Hunter Jones of Gibsons, Jujhur Khun-Khun of Surrey and Jason Thomas McBride of North Vancouver were each charged last year with first-degree murder and four counts of attempted murder in the August 2011 gang shooting.
Bacon, 30, was gunned down outside Kelowna’s Delta Grand Hotel and Resort in a mid-afternoon attack that also wounded four people sitting with him inside a Porsche Cayenne SUV. Among the four passengers, Hells Angel Larry Amero and two women suffered serious injuries.
The three accused remain in custody in the Surrey Pretrial Centre.
The jury trial, set to last six months, will start April 4, 2016.
