There’s been another small wildfire in the Langdale – Port Mellon area.

The 10-metre x 10-metre spot fire was reported Wednesday morning about three kilometres outside Langdale, about 50 metres from the side of the Port Mellon Highway.

A BC Wildfire Service initial attack team and a crew of volunteer fire fighters responded, and the fire is now out.

The last update from the Wildfire Service listed the cause as unknown.

The fire was the 11th on the Lower Sunshine Coast since the beginning of the wildfire season on April 1.

The wildfire danger rating had returned to high through much of the area around Highway 101 between Gibsons and Sechelt as of July 24, and remains moderate for the rest of the Coast.
