Two entrepreneurs from Roberts Creek will be appearing on CBC’s Dragons’ Den on Thursday, Oct. 12.

Meghan Conyers and Quincy Samycia, co-founders of Strongbody Apparel, Inc., will be pitching their luxury active wear brand for men, which uses eco-friendly performance technologies including crab and shrimp shells as materials.

The couple, who were profiled in the spring edition of Coast Life, were in Maui for their wedding when they got the call that they would have the chance to be on the show.

“We were excited to be selected to pitch the Dragons for Season 12,” Samycia said in a release. “We have watched the show for years and are consistently inspired by the entrepreneurs who had the guts to go into the Den.”

With Strongbody’s distribution growing, both online and through wholesale partners, seeking an investment in the company was the next logical step, the release said.

“Coming on the heels of a successful Kickstarter campaign, Strongbody’s goal is to grow its distribution and marketing efforts. The founders hope that with the help of a Dragon investment they will be able to expand faster and more efficiently.”

Dragons’ Den is a Canadian reality show that gives entrepreneurs the chance to pitch their business to a panel of Canadian business moguls. It is filmed at the CBC Broadcasting Centre in Toronto.
