Craft Beer Festival the best yet

A total of 475 tickets were sold for the third annual Craft Beer Festival hosted by Persephone Brewing Co. to benefit Sunshine Coast Association for Community Living (SCACL) – and ticket holders were eager to get a taste. Guests sampled brews and ciders from 15 different breweries, one cidery and one distillery at the Feb. 18 event, held at the Gibsons Public Market. Local craft breweries that took part included Persephone and Gibsons Tapworks.

Although the final numbers were still being crunched, organizers expect to have raised about $11,000 for SCACL after expenses. “That’s about double what we raised last year,” said Persephone’s general manager Dion Whyte. “It was amazing. Frankly I think it was the best beer festival of the three now that we’ve done. They just keep getting better and better.”
