The four Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) branches on the Sunshine Coast will be hosting Remembrance Day ceremonies on Saturday, November 11, in Gibsons, Roberts Creek, Sechelt and Pender Harbour.

The Gibsons RCL branch #109 will be hosting ceremonies at the cenotaph starting at 10:30 a.m., followed by presentations and refreshments at the hall located at 747 Gibsons Way.

The Sechelt RCL branch #140 will line up for the colour parade at 10:30 a.m., with a parade to the cenotaph starting at 10:45 a.m. Following the laying of wreaths and ceremony at the Sechelt Cenotaph at the corner of Cowrie Street and Highway 101, there will be a luncheon at the Legion hall and entertainment with Jim Taylor and Coast Fiddlers. Everyone is welcome.

Roberts Creek RCL branch #219 will be holding Remembrance Day ceremonies on the lawn in front of the cenotaph at 3064 Lower Road in Roberts Creek. Community members are asked to gather at 10:45 a.m. and the service will begin at 10:55 a.m.  Parking is limited so attendees are asked to be prepared for a short walk.  Lunch will follow and everyone is invited.

In Pender Harbour, the colour parade will start at the Music School across from Madeira Park Elementary School at 10:30 a.m. and will head to the Pender Harbour RCL branch #112, located at 121829 Lilies Lake Road in Madeira Park. The Pender Harbour Choir and the Pender Harbour Elementary/Secondary School band will perform at the Remembrance Day ceremony. Afterwards Skinny Jimmy and the Preachers will be entertaining at the Legion and everyone is invited for a free lunch.
