Clean Air Society meets Sunday

Environment
clean air

The Clean Air Society’s Annual General Meeting is Sunday, April 8, 1 to 3 p.m. at Port Stalashen Clubhouse, 1585 Field Road, Wilson Creek.

Sunshine Coast Medical Health Officer, Dr. Geoff McKee, will be the guest speaker. The society’s concern has always been health hazards of air pollution in general, but of smoke inhalation in particular. To this effect, its campaigns are and have been: open (backyard) burning; cosmetic pesticide use; the wood stove exchange program; smoke-free spaces; and, through the newest face, The 2 Degrees Institute, the Electric Car Pledge.

Last year the society adopted a revised mission statement: “To educate the public on air quality and climate science and provide solutions that will enhance the quality of life for future generations.”

Membership is free and all are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.
