The Community Programming team at Coast Cable 11 is planning a new initiative to explore the variety of faith experiences in their local access area.

Cable 11's Marlene Lowden said they plan to air a pilot program some time in the spring.

"We hope to explore the ways by which the various faith communities celebrate seasonal celebrations," Lowden said. "We are also interested in having representatives share with our viewing public how their faith communities approach issues facing the human family in the 21st century." Lowden also thought it would be interesting to learn how families living on the Sunshine Coast maintain their personal commitment to a faith in the absence of a large community support network.

"We are envisioning a series of programs to do justice to such personal and complicated issues," she said. "We already know who to contact for the extensive Christian and New Age communities that are active here, but we are particularly appealing to members of the Sikh, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist faith groups to assist us in what can be one of the most original and exciting educational program initiatives ever undertaken by Coast Cable 11."

Anybody willing to explore taking part in these programs should contact Lowden at 604-886-8565 or email [email protected].
