Buddy Boyd and Barb Hetherington of Gibsons Recycling, along with Piper the dog, caught the early ferry Thursday en route to Victoria, where they’ll dip the wheels of their Chevy Bolt electric car into the Pacific on July 1, kicking off a cross-Canada road trip to celebrate Canada 150 and promote Zero Waste living.
Victoria Mayor Lisa Helps was planning to be on hand to send the trio on its way to Quidi Vidi, Newfoundland.
