Pender Harbour Wildlife

Pender Harbour Wildlife invites you to hear biologist Andrew Bryant talk about his journey through the landscape of Canada’s threatened species.

Armed with a PhD, notepad, binoculars, and a whole lot of enthusiasm, Bryant spent 25 years as an independent consultant, working on a variety of threatened species across Canada.

Best known for his work on Vancouver Island marmots, he’s also spent time paddling around Manitoulin Island in search of Kirtland’s warblers, mapping invasive aquatic plants in Lake Massawippi, reintroducing peregrine falcons in Algonquin, being frightened by grizzly bears in the Khutzetmateen, climbing red-shouldered hawk nest-trees in Kitchener, and rappelling into abandoned Okanagan gold-mines in search of hibernating bats.

Bryant’s presentation is on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 7 p.m., at Pender Harbour Secondary School. Home-baked refreshments will be served. Updates at [email protected].
