Three all candidates’ meetings have now been set for October on the Sunshine Coast.
The first meeting will be on Oct. 1 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Seaside Centre (5790 Teredo Square) in Sechelt.
The meeting will be hosted by the Sunshine Coast Seniors Planning Table, the Sunshine Coast Homelessness Advisory Committee, VOICE on the Coast and the Sunshine Coast Affordable Housing Committee, and moderated by Sean Eckford.
The theme of this first all candidates’ meeting will be affordable housing, homelessness, supportive housing, poverty and access to social services, organizers have said.
On Oct. 2 there will be an all candidates forum at the Sechelt Indian Band Hall (behind Sechelt McDonald’s) sponsored by the Alliance for Democracy and Sunshine Coast Senior Citizens, moderated by Betty Baxter.
That meeting will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and has no specific focus. Residents are encouraged to come with their questions for the candidates.
The third all candidates forum will be held on Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chatelech Secondary School theatre. This forum is being coordinated by the Sechelt Chamber of Commerce and is still being fully developed.
