Coast to Coast, an earthquake and tsunami relief fundraiser for Japan will be held at Roberts Creek community hall from noon to 4 p.m. this Sunday, April 10. There will be an emergency preparedness presentation from 1:30 to 2:30, live musicians and performers, a silent auction with more than $3,500 worth of items, Nagomi Sushi and other food vendors and origami craft making for kids.
All proceeds will go to the Japanese Red Cross via Cana-dian Red Cross. The event is co-sponsored by the Roberts Creek Community Association. Admission is by donation.

Flamenco dancers perform in Romeo and Juliet at the Raven's Cry Theatre this Saturday at 8 p.m.
On Sunday don't miss Nikki Weber's annual Now Generation show at 2 p.m. at the Heritage Playhouse for the best in youthful female vocalists and grooving musicians.
Duttons fundraiser
What does $10 get you these days? On Friday, April 15, at the Creek Hall you will be treated to an evening of music featuring the Duttons, Bits of String, Cabin Fever, The Rakish Angles, Dave Groom and Angie McCauley and The Billy Hillpicker Band. All proceeds will go to the Food Bank and the Japan relief fund. There will be raffles, delicious goodies and refreshments available. Come and share an evening of music with your neighbours and support some very worthy causes. The fun goes from 7 to 11 p.m.
Book award
Author Dorothy Riddle has received good news about her book Principles of Abundance for the Cosmic Citizen, self-published last year and reviewed in Coast Reporter last fall. The book has been nominated for the Eric Hoffer Award, an American honour for books of great merit, particularly those from independent publishers. Within this category it was specifically nominated for the Montaigne Medal, an additional distinction awarded to the most thought-provoking book each year. The book is available at some local bookstores.
